Vestibular cysts should be referred to as vestibular gland cysts, and moxibustion does not usually make vestibular gland cysts disappear, but usually only relieves certain symptoms. Vestibular cysts, also known as Bartholin’s gland cysts, are caused by congenital narrowing of the ducts, chronic inflammation and other causes of blockage of the ductal openings of the vestibular gland, which in turn leads to the formation of cysts. Moxibustion can improve the local circulation of body fluids and has the effect of activating blood circulation to reduce swelling. When the cysts are small, moxibustion and sitz baths can improve their symptoms. However, when the cysts are large or abscesses are formed, surgical treatments are needed, such as cyst incision and drainage, and vestibular cystostomy. It is recommended that people with vestibular cysts should consult a doctor in time for treatment under the guidance of a professional doctor, and should not do moxibustion on their own.
