How stage 1 colon cancer is treated

Stage Ⅰ colon cancer is mainly treated by surgery, and whether consolidation chemotherapy is needed should be considered according to intraoperative observation of tumor invasion and postoperative pathology. Stage I colon cancer is usually confined to the intestinal wall, and stage I colon cancer is potentially curable. Surgery should be performed as early as possible, during which the diseased intestinal segment and the lymph node drainage area of the corresponding intestinal segment should be resected, etc., and whether consolidation chemotherapy is needed should be considered according to the pathological results. Postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy is to kill the tiny lesions that cannot be detected during surgery, etc., and reduce the risk of tumor recurrence and metastasis. Stage I colon cancer suggests timely consultation, standardized treatment under doctor’s guidance and regular postoperative review to prolong survival and improve prognosis.
