Serrated tongue is the “tooth mark tongue” in Chinese medicine, and the edge of the tongue is marked by the teeth. It is caused by the pressure from the edge of the teeth because the tongue is fat. It is mainly caused by spleen qi deficiency, spleen yang deficiency, spleen and stomach weakness.
1. Spleen-Qi deficiency: mainly due to the deficiency of Spleen-Qi, the function of transporting and transforming water and dampness is weakened, causing dampness to be stored in the memory, which leads to loose stools, pale tongue with white moss and teeth marks.
2. Spleen-Yang deficiency: mainly due to the weakness of Spleen-Yang, the loss of warmth and transportation, and the internalization of yin and cold. It can be seen as coldness, cold pain in the abdomen, pale and fat tongue or teeth marks, and white slippery moss.
3. Weakness of the spleen and the stomach: visible fatigue (mental exhaustion, physical weakness), poor diet, cold limbs, lethargy, pale tongue, teeth marks, moss white.
In addition to the above disorders, the above symptoms can also be seen in people with a water-damp body. If the above symptoms occur, it is recommended to standardize the treatment after identification in TCM.
