What is the difference between a pulmonary nodule shadow and a nodule?

Pulmonary nodular shadow and nodules are the same concept and there is no difference. The main difference is the size and nature of the lung nodule, whether it is a benign or malignant tumor. Pulmonary nodules include ground glass nodules, partially solid nodules and solid nodules. If the nodule is smaller than 5mm it is mostly benign and chronic inflammatory nodule, no special treatment is needed, only dynamic follow-up chest high-resolution CT once a year is needed. If the lung nodule shadow is larger than 8mm with short burr, lobar, pleural traction sign, pleural depression sign, etc., the possibility of early lung cancer needs to be alerted. Enhanced CT examination of the chest should be given if necessary, and if the nodule is larger, percutaneous lung puncture cytohistological biopsy can be given to clarify whether it is early lung cancer as early as possible. Therefore, imaging suggestive of pulmonary nodular shadow and nodules are the same concept and do not need special differentiation, and need to focus on benign and malignant tumors.
