There are many kinds of antipsychotic drugs, divided into typical antipsychotic drugs and second-generation atypical antipsychotic drugs. The common first-generation typical antipsychotic drugs include pentafluridol, haloperidol, fenadine, loxapine, fluphenazine, chlorpromazine, sulpiride, etc. These drugs have relatively large side effects and are less used in clinical practice. The second-generation atypical antipsychotics are risperidone, clozapine, olanzapine, amisulpride, ziprasidone, paliperidone, aripiprazole, and quetiapine, which have relatively fewer side effects and are currently used more often in clinical practice, and are the preferred antipsychotics.
