What’s wrong with snoring?

Snoring, also known as snoring, can be categorized into simple snoring, mostly caused by fatigue, obesity and other factors, or it may be a symptomatic manifestation of certain diseases, such as adenoid hypertrophy, allergic rhinitis and other causes of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome. It is mainly caused by the vibration of the soft palate when air passes through the oropharynx during sleep.
1. Simple snoring: it refers to the patient’s obvious snoring, regular and even, during sleep, which is often caused by obesity, muscle relaxation and neurohumoral endocrine dysfunction.
2. Adenoid hypertrophy: refers to the pathological hyperplasia and hypertrophy of adenoid due to pharyngeal infection or repeated inflammatory stimulation, which is common in children. Patients may have symptoms such as nasal congestion, ear stuffiness, hearing loss, runny nose, etc. In severe cases, it may be combined with obstructive sleep apnea hypoventilation syndrome, which is manifested as loud snoring and breath holding during sleep.
3. Allergic rhinitis: this is a kind of chronic reactive inflammation of nasal mucosa, patients mostly take nasal itching, paroxysmal sneezing, a large amount of watery nasal discharge and nasal congestion as the main manifestations of symptoms, and snoring can occur when swollen tissues block the nasal cavity and lead to open-mouth breathing.
If snoring is accompanied by other uncomfortable symptoms, you should consult a doctor in time for a systematic examination to clarify the cause of the disease.
