Having sex in the early stages of pregnancy may cause the baby to miscarry. When having intercourse in the early stages of pregnancy, there is a risk of redness, miscarriage, and infection in pregnant women. Generally sex during pregnancy is recommended to be reduced or not to have intercourse during early pregnancy, especially during the first trimester. It is also not recommended to have intercourse during late pregnancy because of the risk of upstream infection, premature rupture of membranes, and reaction to preterm labor. If the pregnant woman is stable throughout her pregnancy, intercourse is possible in the middle of pregnancy, provided that she does not have a preterm miscarriage, a low placenta and other complications.
