Medulloblastoma is a kind of glioma, malignant grade 4 indicates that the situation is serious and difficult to be cured, but the survival rate can be improved by surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and so on.
1. Surgery: tumor resection, to remove the tumor to the maximum extent without damaging the normal brain tissue; ventriculoperitoneal shunt surgery, which is feasible if the ventricles are enlarged and the cranial hypertension cannot be relieved after tumor resection or during radiotherapy.
2. Radiotherapy: start radiotherapy as soon as possible after surgery; the later the radiotherapy, the worse the prognosis.
3. Systemic chemotherapy: adjuvant chemotherapy after radiotherapy.
Medulloblastoma is most common in children, rare in adults, and most of them occur in the brainstem or skull base, with high malignant degree, but after a series of treatments such as surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, it can effectively increase the survival rate and improve the prognosis.
