Milled glass nodules can be categorized into purely milled glass-like nodules and mixed nodules. The treatments for nodules of different nature are different.
1. Pure ground-glass nodules: for ground-glass nodules of 5-10mm, if there are no risk factors for lung cancer, CT review is needed in three months, and if the review result is normal, it can be repeated in one year. If there are risk factors of lung cancer, such as pleural pulling and burr sign, puncture biopsy or direct surgery is needed.
2. Mixed nodules: For partially solid nodules less than 8mm, annual follow-up is possible. If there is an increase in sexually ground glass or solid components during the follow-up period, malignancy is considered a possibility and surgery is recommended.
Ground glass nodules as small as 6mm need to be treated promptly to avoid delaying the disease.
