Bilateral vocal folds can be seen as reddish protrusions, which may be caused by chronic laryngitis, acute laryngitis, benign swelling of the vocal folds and other diseases. It is recommended to go to the ear, nose and throat department of the regular hospital, and follow the doctor’s instructions to check the clear diagnosis.
1. Chronic laryngitis: manifested as hoarseness, throat discomfort, dryness and other symptoms, the examination can be seen bilateral thickening of the vocal folds, congestion, edema, reddish protuberance.
2. Acute laryngitis: symptoms such as hoarseness, cough, sputum, sore throat, etc. Laryngoscopy often shows bilateral vocal folds thickening, congestion, edema and reddish protuberance. Laryngoscopy often sees bilateral vocal folds are diffuse acute congestion, edema, bilateral symmetry can be manifested as reddish protuberance.
3. Vocal cord benign tumor: such as vocal cord polyp, vocal cord nodule, etc., which is manifested as hoarseness, and the examination can often see reddish raised bumps on both sides of the vocal cords.
4. Laryngeal cancer: due to the invasion of cancer cells into bilateral vocal cords, the local tissues form reddish bumps, accompanied by hoarseness, foreign body sensation, breath-holding and other symptoms.
If the above symptoms appear or the examination finds that reddish colored bumps can be seen on both vocal cords, it is recommended to go to ENT department of regular hospital as soon as possible to find out the cause of the disease and treat it as early as possible.
