How should benign tumors of the breast be treated?

Benign breast tumors are very common. The more common benign breast tumors are breast fibromas and intraductal or intracapsular papillomas. The rest of the benign tumors are very rare and there are about a dozen of them. 1, breast adenofibroma: the most common in the 20-25 years old young women, usually most of the single sexual, there can be more than one, in one side or both sides of the breast appeared in the person. The occurrence of breast adenofibroma is closely related to the stimulation of estrogen. Therefore, they rarely occur in premenstrual or postmenopausal women. Breast adenofibromas are mostly located in the outer upper quadrant of the breast. They are often ovoid in shape and are as small as a cherry, but can be larger. Generally the surface of the tumor is smooth and hard. The tumor has clear boundary, no adhesion with skin and surrounding tissues, and can be moved by pushing, but letting go of the tumor will bring it back to its original position. There is no spontaneous pain or tenderness. Surgery is needed. 2. Intraductal or intracapsular papilloma of the breast: this disease is rare and mostly found in women aged 40-50. It can be single or multiple. The tumor is often located in the dilated milk ducts in the nipple, or in the cyst near the nipple which is connected with the milk ducts. The papillomas are usually small, with tips and many villi, and bleed easily because they are rich in thin-walled blood vessels. Patients usually have no pain, the main symptom is nipple discharge and bleeding, sometimes in the nipple can feel small oblong swelling, soft and non-adhesive to the skin, can be pushed. Blood secretion can be discharged from the nipple when squeezing the mammary gland. 6-8% of intraductal or intracapsular papillomas can be cancerous and need surgical treatment. 3.Lymphangioma: there are lymphatic ducts and connective tissues with cystic sex interspersed with yellowish fluid, surgical treatment is needed. 4.Papillary tumor of large mammary duct: papillary tumor of large mammary duct refers to the papillary tumor occurring in a section of mammary duct from the opening of duct to the jugular abdomen below about 1cm. It is mainly solitary and rare in multiple cases. Gynecologists said that clinically, breast examination can be manifested as nipple discharge, pain, palpation of the swelling of three cases, nipple discharge smear cytology, visible red blood cells and epithelial cells, sometimes visible tumor cells, but often can not determine the benign or malignant. Papilloma of large ducts of the breast with nipple discharge as the only clinical manifestation can be excised by segmental resection. If the tumor is large, total mastectomy is recommended for middle-aged women. 5. Lipoma: the most common benign tumor on the body surface, it can occur in any structure with adipose tissue, but it is most common on the body surface and breast. It mostly occurs in obese female patients, and the age of onset is 30 to 50 years old. It is mainly manifested as single, round or lobulated soft lumps with clear boundary, slow growth, rarely malignant, and the treatment is mainly based on surgical excision. 6.Smooth muscle tumor: manifested as a slightly elevated small tumor in the areola area, with firm texture, clear boundary, slow growth and no discomfort. Vascular smooth muscle tumor: originated from the smooth muscle on the wall of blood vessels of the mammary gland itself. It is often found in the deeper part of the breast, and the growth of superficial smooth muscle tumor is slow, the boundary is still clear, and there is no discomfort. Surgery is the only treatment method. 8, misshapen tumor: very rare, also known as adenolipoma. Clinically, it is almost difficult to have a correct diagnosis. It is mainly manifested as a wrapped lump in the breast, with little activity, slow growth and no discomfort. It is most common in women after middle age. Surgical excision is the only treatment method. 9, chondrosarcoma: no self-conscious symptoms, hard and active, generally believed to be fibroblast chemotaxis, surgical treatment without recurrence. 10.Neurofibroma:the nipple, areola area grows out of groups of soft or with light brown pigmentation of the pendulous swelling, no discomfort. The body surface often consists of scattered similar swellings and hyperpigmented spots. Generally do not need surgical excision, huge, ulcerated, aesthetically pleasing can be individually excised. Other rare benign tumors include hemangioma and granular cell tumor. Almost all breast tumors can be cured by surgery.
