Can cirrhosis be treated for Helicobacter pylori

Patients with cirrhosis are not allowed to treat H. pylori during their illness.
Treatment of H. pylori is usually done by triple therapy or quadruple therapy under the guidance of a specialized gastroenterologist. Omeprazole + metronidazole + amoxicillin is commonly used in triple therapy, and omeprazole + metronidazole + amoxicillin + colloidal bismuth pectin is commonly used in quadruple therapy.
Among them, omeprazole belongs to proton pump inhibitor, which may have damage to liver function, mainly manifested as jaundice, transaminase elevation, skin itching and so on. And most of the drugs need to be metabolized by the liver, which will further increase the burden on the liver and aggravate the condition.
If you have cirrhosis with Helicobacter pylori infection, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time and take treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
