What causes green poop?

The appearance of green stools in patients may be related to improper diet, disease causes and other factors.
1. Improper diet: If patients consume too much green vegetables, they may have green stools and usually have no other symptoms.
2. Disease causes: If the patient has functional dyspepsia, there may be belching, epigastric distension, nausea and other symptoms, which may be accompanied by green stools. If the patient suffers from bacillary dysentery, green stools may also occur, which may be accompanied by nausea, diarrhea, fever, chills and other symptoms. If the patient is an infant or young child, rotavirus enteritis should be noted, which may result in green stools with a foul odor and may be accompanied by fever and abdominal pain.
Patients with green stools should seek medical attention if non-disease factors are ruled out.
