You can judge whether the eardrum is broken according to the symptoms, physical examination and auxiliary examination.
1. Symptoms: If there is a clear history of trauma, or after blowing the nose with force, there will be ear pain and tinnitus at the time of or after the injury, sometimes accompanied by transient dizziness, and in severe cases, there may be fresh blood flowing out of the ear.
2. Physical examination: electro-otoscopy reveals obvious perforation of the tympanic membrane, gas comes out of the ear when the nose is pinched and the air is puffed out, and ear drops can be put into the ear canal and the medicine can be perceived as flowing down from the throat.
3. Auxiliary examination: Rigid otoscopic observation of the eardrum shows irregular, round, fissure-like and pinpoint perforations. Also feasible pure tone hearing threshold, acoustic impedance examination to assist in the judgment.
