What is Intentional Therapy?

There is a special connection between intention and disease. There are too many cases that have given me this insight. Likewise, intention, too, is a powerful tool to overcome illness, or at least, to help ourselves, to improve the efficacy and quality of life. This, too, is an indisputable fact. To tell a true story, the protagonist is the 2010 “Moving China” character – Sun Yanming. In the spring of 2004, Sun Yanming, a civilian police officer at Dongyang City Detention Center, was doing his job well when an unfortunate news fell from the sky. A red lump appeared on the left back of his head and was diagnosed as “brain cancer”. Sun Yanming told the reporter: “The hour after I learned of my condition was the hardest hour of my life for more than 40 years …… I only allowed myself to be sad for one hour because I could not escape this fact.” This not only shows Sun Yanming’s positive and optimistic attitude towards life, but also, more importantly, his firm intention to “overcome cancer”. He accepted the fact, faced cancer and fought bravely against death. Sun Yanming has undergone three major surgeries. Every time his condition improved, he had to run back to the office to continue his work. The director, He Yiping, advised him many times to change his post, but he politely refused. Sun Yanming said: “If you let me rest, is to harm me. Not to work, let me think about the disease all day, worry are going to kill me.” After three major surgeries, Sun Yanming still insisted on returning to his job. What supported him to create the “miracle of life” and become the “master” of brain cancer instead of the “slave”? It was his will! The will to “defy” and “fight” cancer with determination and willpower! “Please don’t treat me as a patient!” This is a phrase that Sun Yanming always talks about, and it should also be a phrase from his heart. In contrast, how many of our patients, in terms of intention, become “captives” of the disease early on, constantly suggesting to themselves: “I am a patient, I am no longer healthy, I need the help of doctors, I need the help of drugs, I need the help of surgery, I need …… help”. The reason is: “After the disease, I can’t sleep anyway, one more pair of eyes to keep an eye on, the prison area is more a security.” In contrast, how many healthier people, simply because of poor sleep quality, become depressed, suspicious, complaining, and run to the hospital all day. What is the difference? Different intention! Turn “passive” into “active”. Second, more sweating. After Sun Yanming’s illness, he was weak and prone to sweating. When on duty, and always keep patrolling to check. Even in winter, his cloth shoes also have sweat. In contrast, many people who are also weak after the disease, all day long, thinking: more what tonic good? How to make up the body back? What is the difference? It’s the difference in intention! Do not rely on “external assistance”, diligently practice “internal strength”. Third, wash your hair more. Whenever the headache was unbearable, Sun Yanming would run to the bathroom and wash his head with cold water to relieve the pain, even in the cold winter. The headache of brain cancer is very painful, which is unimaginable and unbearable for ordinary people. In contrast, there are many people who are so nervous when they have a slight pain that they ask for medication and injection to relieve the pain, and become the “slaves” of pain obediently. What is the difference? It is still a difference in intention! Never “compromise”, tenaciously “fight”. After reading Sun Yanming’s story, we may have a little sense of “intentional therapy”. Intentional therapy is to use one’s own will to win (thought) when one is suffering from a disease, especially when suffering from a “major disease”, and to mobilize one’s own inner potential with strong will power (willpower) to fight against the disease, and to take the initiative to use, cooperate with and guide ” external assistance” (drugs, surgery, physics, chemistry, biology, etc.) to become the “master of the disease” instead of being reduced to a “slave”, thus, winning the final The “miracle of life” is created by “victory”. Miracles are always created by those who “think it is impossible but think it is possible”! Sun Yanming said this at the award ceremony: Every day, when you step into the door of the unit at work, it is like a march, and when you step out of the door of the unit at the end of the day, it is like a triumph. Live each day well, let your life, win more meaningful day, with such optimistic beliefs, can not create the miracle of life? The idea is to respect the laws of science, there is also a “degree” of the problem, not blindly follow. Sun Yanming himself, may not understand the intentional therapy, but he has set an example for us with his actions. The implementation of intentional therapy, should pay attention to the following points: 1, optimistic face was informed that they suffer from a disease, with an optimistic attitude, accept the reality, is the first link to open intentional therapy. If, lying in bed all day, complaining about how unfortunate they are, regretting how they were, the end is certainly not good for them. If you are glad that you did not die suddenly due to “violent illness”, God also left himself the opportunity to fight with the disease, the end will certainly be to his advantage. 2. Take charge The road of life is winding, and there are always many “ditches” that you have to go over. Face the reality frankly, from the moment of illness, challenge yourself again, actively explore ways to overcome the disease, let yourself become the “master” of the disease, rather than at the mercy of the disease “slave”, tenacious ” Self-help”, you have entered the state of intentional therapy. 3, know your enemy with the idea of healing, is to use the idea of mobilizing the inner potential and the power of “external help” to focus on a specific target or some. Know yourself and your enemy, you will never lose a battle. With the help of doctors, with a calm mind, understand clearly the knowledge and treatment means related to their own diseases, so that according to their own actual situation, the strengths and weaknesses can be avoided, and the direction of the main attack and stage goals can be clarified. 4, clear goals Only a firm intention and strong willpower is not enough, but also must guide their own willpower and “external assistance”, planned, phased “attack” specific goals, in order to create a miracle of life. This is like conducting a battle, in strategy can defy the enemy, in tactics must pay attention to the enemy, only strategic thinking and strong soldiers is not enough, but also must have a clear tactical layout, in order to achieve the victory of the whole battle. It is not only important, but also necessary to establish the goal and seek the help of a doctor. After all, the patient is not a medical expert and has a relatively superficial understanding of the disease and the means of diagnosis and treatment. 5, step by step At first, you should choose some easy to achieve the goal, experience “small victory”, in order to strengthen their confidence, intention and willpower. After that, gradually sum up the experience, expand the results, and seek “global victory”. For example, the intention to cooperate with doctors to overcome some of the inevitable adverse effects of drugs, surgery and other “external assistance” treatment (such as: loss of appetite, gastrointestinal reactions, bowel movements, pain and discomfort, physical weakness, etc.). After trying the initial effect of intentional therapy, start to move to larger goals (such as: kill cancer cells, regulate autoimmunity, promote hematopoietic function, etc.). 6, not arrogant not discouraged phased implementation, the first results, not “complacent”, mistakenly believe that “idea therapy is omnipotent”, so give up, cold “help”, delay Treatment. Although great people have also made the mistake of “man is better than God”, but life is precious, do not forget to follow the laws of science. If, however, you are not successful, do not be discouraged, but learn from your failures, failure is the mother of success. The previous stage of intentional therapy, did not achieve the desired goal, it does not matter, to once again firm up their confidence, intention and willpower to win, constantly suggest themselves: “the revolution has not yet succeeded”, you still have to work hard. Sun Yanming said, “Don’t treat me as a patient”, in fact, is to “create opportunities” for yourself, so that you can return to “normal life” as much as possible. By often working and living with healthy people, it naturally creates a strong implication for one’s own body, “I want to return to the same as them”. Of course, the prerequisite is that you have a strong “confidence to overcome the disease”, otherwise, it is easy to produce a bad comparison psychology, complaining that they are not as good as others, thus affecting self-confidence. Long-term “soaking in the hospital”, hearing and seeing more “unfortunate things”, will naturally form a strong bad implication, and undermine their confidence. Therefore, I advocate: after the patient has completed a certain stage of hospital treatment, as far as possible to create the conditions, as soon as possible to leave the hospital, back home to recuperate, conditions permit, participate in more social activities, do some work that can be very beneficial to the treatment of disease. People, the world’s most sophisticated, complex, magical creatures, with a strong “self-healing” ability. The charm of intentional therapy lies in: through their own concept of change, to establish the confidence to win, with a firm intention and strong willpower, to fully exploit their own great potential to resist disease, with the help of “external assistance”, to overcome the difficulties, re-adjustment, self-healing. Many miracles have been created in this way.
