Can a CT of the brain detect an auditory neuroma?

CT of the brain is not able to detect auditory neuroma. Most of the auditory neuroma is in the pontocerebellar horn region, and CT examination of the brain is usually scanned from the auricle to the occipital line as a plane upward. Patients may not be able to scan the pontocerebellar horn region in general. Patients with brain tumors may have isointense lesions in the CT examination part, which can be abnormal in imaging. If a patient develops an auditory neuroma, the main examination of cranial MRI can clarify the diagnosis. Brain CT is mainly used to examine cerebral hemorrhage and cerebral infarction, and brain MRI has advantages for cerebral infarction and brain tumor.
