Sex hormone tests vary from hospital to hospital and include six tests: folliculogenic hormone, luteinizing hormone, estradiol, progesterone, testosterone and prolactin. Sex hormone testing is the most common method to understand the endocrine status of women. Through this test, we can understand the degree of endocrine dysfunction and determine certain diseases, such as menstrual disorders in obese women and high testosterone levels found in the sex hormone test, which may be combined with polycystic ovary syndrome. If a woman presents with elevated prolactin levels, combined with menstrual disorders and amenorrhea, the presence of pituitary tumors should be highly suspected. The routine endocrine function, i.e. sex hormone six test, can provide an approximate understanding of a woman’s endocrine function status and help determine the clinical disease condition.
