Can thyroid nodules be treated externally?

Thyroid nodules are currently not clinically treated with topical compresses. Whether using traditional Chinese medicine or hot compresses, the treatment of thyroid nodules cannot achieve any therapeutic purpose, and cannot cause them to shrink or disappear, or even cause local skin breakage or even bacterial infections due to the topical application of certain medications. Thyroid nodules are currently a common thyroid disorder, and the exact cause of the disease is not clear. Clinical management of thyroid nodules requires blood tests, including T3, T4, TSH, to exclude the possibility of hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism. Further, thyroid ultrasound is performed and graded. If the grading is below grade 4 and the thyroid nodule does not exceed 3 cm, no treatment is needed, and the patient should be followed up regularly and closely. If the grading is above grade 4 and the diameter is less than 1.5cm, cytocentesis is advocated to exclude the possibility of thyroid cancer, and if the diameter is more than 1.5cm, it is advocated to carry out a major resection of the thyroid gland and send it for intraoperative freezing. If thyroid cancer is confirmed, radical thyroid cancer surgery should be added, together with postoperative chemotherapy.
