What causes hydrocephalus in infants

Causes of hydrocephalus in infants include excessive production of cerebrospinal fluid, cerebrospinal fluid absorption disorders, and cerebrospinal fluid circulation disorders.
1. Excessive production of cerebrospinal fluid: diseases such as papilloma, intracranial infection and traumatic brain injury may cause the brain to produce more cerebrospinal fluid than normal, resulting in hydrocephalus in infants.
2. Disorders of cerebrospinal fluid circulation: Various reasons lead to the obstruction of cerebrospinal fluid circulation pathway, which will gradually increase the cerebrospinal fluid and lead to hydrocephalus in infants, the reasons include cerebral hemorrhage, infectious diseases of the central nervous system, traumatic brain injury, intracranial tumors and so on.
3. Obstruction of cerebrospinal fluid absorption: Due to the reduction of cerebrospinal fluid absorption by arachnoid granules, cerebrospinal fluid gradually increases, resulting in hydrocephalus in infants, and the common diseases include intracranial infection, cerebral hemorrhage and so on.
