The bivalent, quadrivalent or nine-valent cervical cancer vaccine is available at age 40. However, it should be noted that cervical cancer vaccination cannot replace cervical cancer screening.
There are three types of cervical cancer vaccines: bivalent, quadrivalent, and nivalent. At present, the appropriate age for all three types of vaccines is 9-45 years old, so it is possible to take the bivalent, quadrivalent, or nivalent vaccine at the age of 40.
The bivalent vaccine mainly prevents HPV types 16 and 18; the quadrivalent targets HPV types 6, 11, 16 and 18; and the nine-valent targets nine subtypes of HPV types 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52 and 58.
HPV vaccination is prohibited for those who have hypersensitivity to the active ingredient of the vaccine or any of the excipient components, and those who have symptoms of hypersensitivity after injection of the product should not be revaccinated with the product.
Regular cervical cancer screening is still required after HPV vaccination.
