Whether rhinitis can cause elevated white blood cells cannot be generalized. Acute rhinitis caused by infection may have high white blood cells; common chronic rhinitis and allergic rhinitis usually do not cause high white blood cells. High white blood cells may be caused by infection, trauma and other inflammatory diseases. It is recommended that patients go to the hospital in time to improve the relevant examination. Rhinitis is divided into acute rhinitis, chronic rhinitis and allergic rhinitis; acute rhinitis is often caused by infections, including viral and bacterial infections, and may have high white blood cells. Chronic rhinitis is caused by repeated episodes of acute rhinitis that have not been completely cured, or there are structural abnormalities of the nasal cavity and inflammation of the surrounding tissues; allergic rhinitis is an allergic reaction produced by atopic body encountering allergens. Chronic rhinitis and allergic rhinitis usually do not have elevated white blood cells, but they may be elevated secondary to bacterial infection. Elevated white blood cells can occur under physiological conditions, such as strenuous exercise, cold, hunger, and other stressful situations; they can also be elevated after bacterial, viral, or fungal infections, blood disorders, such as leukemia, chronic granulocytic leukemia, or trauma. If the white blood cells are high, please consult your doctor for further examination to clarify the cause.
