Where is the tiger’s mouth point

The tiger’s mouth point is located on the back of the hand, at the junction of the thumb and index finger. In Chinese medicine, the tiger’s mouth point is the location of the Hegu point, which has a wide range of effects and is called a universal point in Chinese medicine. For acute headache, toothache, trigeminal neuralgia and sore throat, pressing the tiger’s mouth point can provide emergency pain relief. When pressing, use the tip of the thumb of the other hand to press the Hegu point, which is at the midpoint of the radial edge on the back of the second metacarpal bone, and apply pressure toward the metacarpal bone to cause localized soreness and swelling. Clinically, the Hegu point, the Neiguan point, and the Foot Sanli point are three commonly used points for health care.
