What causes vulvodynia in infants and children?

Infantile vulvovaginitis is a very common disease in female babies, mostly caused by infections with pathogenic bacteria such as Staphylococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus, Aspergillus, etc. A few may be caused by foreign bodies in the vagina. Poor local hygiene of the vulva, lack of attention to the cleanliness of the child’s vulva by the mother and the child’s caregiver, and improper handling after a bowel movement can also easily cause inflammation of the vulva due to the invasion of intestinal bacteria. Therefore, infants and children need to go to the hospital promptly if they have uncomfortable symptoms.
