Diffuse changes in the liver generally indicate the presence of an injury condition in the liver, which may be fatty infiltration, hepatitis, hepatic fibrosis or cirrhosis.
Diffuse hepatic changes are an imaging manifestation of organic liver disease, which generally indicates that the liver is under the influence of certain pathogenic factors resulting in diffuse hepatic changes. Among them, diffuse liver changes due to fatty infiltration of the liver are more common, such as fatty liver.
Hepatitis-induced diffuse liver changes are mainly characterized by hepatocellular degeneration and necrosis, which cause liver fibrosis or even cirrhosis under the continuous involvement and infiltration of inflammatory factors that cause diffuse liver damage, such as the common hepatitis B. Diffuse liver changes manifested by cirrhosis or fibrosis are mainly lesions of the liver as a whole and are usually the end stage of diffuse liver changes.
Therefore, diffuse liver changes require early diagnosis and appropriate treatment to avoid progression of the disease affecting the prognosis.
