Strabismus is a common eye disease in children. Parents need to know more about prevention and treatment. Strabismus is clinically classified into various types. From the time of onset, it is divided into congenital infantile strabismus and acquired strabismus. From the nature of strabismus, it is divided into internal strabismus, external strabismus, upward and downward strabismus, etc. From the etiology, it is divided into regulatory strabismus, paralytic strabismus, and from the time of strabismus, it is divided into intermittent strabismus, constant strabismus, etc. Strabismus is a very complex eye disease in children, and its diagnosis and treatment are relatively complicated. The first danger of strabismus to children is the effect of appearance, which is the main motivation for patients to seek medical attention. Some children with strabismus have abnormal head position such as crooked head or side face vision. When one eye looks directly at the target, the other eye is tilted to the side, which makes others look uncomfortable and also affects the impression the patient gives to others. Long-term crooked head can affect the normal development of the face and cervical spine, causing asymmetry on both sides of the face or neck, and also affects the development of bones throughout the body. More importantly, strabismus affects the visual function of both eyes, and in severe cases, there is no perfect stereopsis. Stereopsis is an advanced visual function that only humans and higher animals have, and it is one of the prerequisites for people to engage in fine work. Without good stereo vision, any object will be a flat surface with no depth and distance. Therefore, children who lack normal binocular vision cannot perform fine work such as aerospace, aviation, detection, mapping, driving, etc., and will be greatly restricted in learning and employment. Most strabismus patients also suffer from amblyopia, which is also a major hazard of strabismus. Since strabismus patients have long term gaze in one eye, the other eye will cause disuse vision loss or stop development, and later, even if they wear suitable glasses, their vision will not reach normal.
