We have previously managed two cases of limb weakness: one was a young girl with high fever and progressive limb weakness after a cold, diagnosed as “Guillain-Barre”; the second was a patient with neurological damage caused by exposure to chemical substances, diagnosed as “polyneuropathy”. The second case was a patient with neurological damage caused by exposure to chemical substances and was diagnosed with “polyneuropathy”. Recently, we have managed 5 cases of limb weakness, which are briefly introduced as follows to increase the understanding of limb weakness: 1, the first case is a young man, 20 years old, sudden weakness of both lower limbs, admitted to the hospital was diagnosed as (1) Hashimoto’s hyperthyroidism; (2) Hyperthyroidism cyclic paralysis, potassium supplementation, antithyroid hormone treatment, weakness of both lower limbs disappeared and was discharged, and is currently taking anti-hyperthyroidism medication. (2) The second case was a 40 middle-aged man with a history of hyperthyroidism, who had been seen in our department several times for double lower limb weakness and diagnosed with (1) hyperthyroidism; (2) hyperthyroid periodic paralysis, and was discharged from the hospital each time after treatment with potassium supplementation and antithyroid hormone, and was currently taking anti-hyperthyroidism medication. (3) The third case was a man in his 40s, who had a history of long-term heavy drinking and progressive weakness of both lower limbs, and was finally diagnosed as “polyneuropathy”, which was caused by peripheral motor neuron damage due to long-term heavy alcohol consumption, and was discharged from the hospital after symptomatic treatments, such as nutritional nerve treatment. After several follow-up visits, the patient’s condition is now stable and he can work normally. The fourth case is a 24-year-old girl, 5 years ago, due to cold and flu began to appear after the limb muscle pain, atrophy and weakness, diagnosed as “polymyositis” in the Second Hospital of Lanzhou University, Tianjin Medical University Hospital, began to use hormone therapy, the current maintenance of the amount of treatment, but usually easy to catch a cold, cold and flu after the limb pain, weakness will be aggravated. He was admitted to the hospital and was found to have interstitial fibrosis of the lungs. She was admitted to the hospital for interstitial lung fibrosis and was treated with the same amount of hormone and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) to clear away heat and detoxify the toxins, strengthen the spleen and replenish the qi, and her condition is stable at present. The fifth case is a man in his 40s, who had skin disease for more than 10 years and used prednisone acetate tablets and dexamethasone tablets for oral treatment. After the use of hormones, necrosis of the femoral head occurred, and inflammatory masses were formed locally for many times. This time, because of the femoral head replacement surgery, she started to reduce the dosage of hormones, but the dosage was reduced too quickly, and she had weakness of the limbs (she could not resist the gravitational force of the center of gravity, and could not get out of the bed), severe edema, pain in the muscles and skin of the whole body, fever, and localized inflammatory lumps. Admitted to the hospital diagnosed as “glucocorticoid hypersensitivity syndrome”, after the hormone use, gradually reduce the amount of hormone, anti-infection, protect the gastric mucosa, correct electrolyte disorders, nutritional support and other information, the patient’s basic condition can be, swelling of the limbs has improved significantly, the muscle strength has been restored to some (able to resist the gravitational force of gravity, away from the bed surface), the muscles and skin pain in the lower limbs have disappeared. Skin pain disappeared. At present, the patient continues to be symptomatic.
