Edema is mostly seen in children with acute and chronic nephritis and nephrotic syndrome. According to the cause and location of edema, TCM doctors classify it into wind and water, dampness and heat, spleen deficiency and dampness, and spleen and kidney deficiency, and use different treatment rules and methods. In addition to pharmacotherapy, attention should be paid to diet. First of all, at the beginning of edema, a low-salt, low-protein diet should be adopted, but children who eat salt-free diet for a long time will reduce their appetite, which is not conducive to their recovery.
