Reasons for the absence of reflux

The cause of the no-reflow phenomenon is not completely clear so far, but it is clear that it is associated with microvascular occlusion, and microvascular spasm episodes, embolism or even the formation of thrombus in the microvessel, compression, and reperfusion injury caused by coronary revascularization may be associated with the no-reflow phenomenon. Because no-reflow refers to the absence of blood flow or slow blood flow in coronary vessels after successful revascularization after myocardial infarction, this is in fact the main reason why revascularization currently fails to achieve effective reperfusion of the myocardium.
