Farting before bowel movement may be caused by a variety of physiological or pathological factors, physiological factors such as high starch diet, poor dietary habits, and pathological factors including gastrointestinal dyskinesia and peptic ulcer.
1. High starch diet: Taro, sweet potatoes, chestnuts and beans have high starch content. Under the action of gastric acid, digestive enzymes can break down the starch into carbon dioxide gas, and if a large amount of starch is ingested, it will produce a lot of gas, which will be discharged before defecation.
2. Bad eating habits: If you have bad eating habits such as eating too fast, swallowing food without chewing it fully, or chatting while eating, it will lead to a lot of air being swallowed along with the food, which will lead to the formation of a lot of farts.
3. Insufficient gastrointestinal power: Insufficient gastrointestinal peristalsis will lead to the gas produced by the decomposition of food as well as the gas produced by the normal flora in the gastrointestinal tract not being easily discharged, and can be discharged only before defecation.
4. Peptic ulcer: patients with peptic ulcer will secrete more gastric acid, food decomposition and bacterial metabolism will produce more gas, resulting in farting before defecation.
If the patient’s farting before defecation is serious, he/she should consult a doctor immediately to avoid delaying his/her condition.
