How long does it take to die from bed sores?

Decubitus ulcers are generally curable and not life-threatening if standardized treatment is administered in a timely manner, but if left untreated, they may cause secondary infections and even death. Decubitus ulcers are a kind of necrotic change of the skin formed mainly in people who are bedridden or paralyzed for a long period of time due to poor blood circulation in the local blood vessels as a result of prolonged pressure on the local skin caused by untimely turning. If no formal treatment is given, these bacteria will multiply on the skin surface and enter the blood circulation system, causing sepsis or septicemia, high fever, and systemic multi-organ failure, leading to death. After the appearance of decubitus ulcers, it is advisable to turn the patient regularly with a chaperone, and the wound can be cleaned with antiseptic drops to reduce the probability of infection.
