Ostomates’ diet to ensure their own intake of adequate water, dietary fiber-based, other and normal people, no obvious food taboos. 1. Moisture: sufficient water can soften the stool and prevent constipation, especially for patients with ileostomy and ascending colon stoma, and at the same time to ensure that they drink enough water to make up for the loss of water due to stoma. 2. Dietary fiber: patients with stoma should eat more vegetables and fruits rich in dietary fiber, such as celery, carrots, leeks, apples and so on. Other diets are consistent with normal people. 3. Precautions (1) In principle, patients with stoma have no obvious contraindications to diet, and it is enough to ensure sufficient and balanced nutrition, but it should be noted that when trying food that has never been eaten before, don’t eat too much at one time, and then eat more if no adverse reaction occurs. (2) Ostomy patients should reduce the intake of foods that tend to block the stoma, such as corn and mushrooms. (3) Reduce the intake of gas-producing foods and irritating foods, including onions, sweet potatoes, garlic, celery, beans, beer and soda. (4) Reduce the intake of high-fat foods, such as nuts, various egg yolks and animal offal.
