Since 1992, the author has used a folk remedy to treat nearly 100 cases of pruritus with a decoction of five kinds of plant leaves and has obtained good results, as described below. The five leaves are pounded and put in a jar and decocted in water. 500-1000ml of the decoction is taken out while it is still hot. The affected area, 2-3 times a day, generally within 5 days the itch to eliminate the disease. Indications Acute and chronic eczema, ringworm, various types of dermatitis, scabies, rubella, addiction rash and other skin diseases, localized without skin ulcers and erosions. Case example Luo, female, 20 years old, visited the clinic on July 20, 1993. She had red papules on the back of both hands, fingertips, axillae, under the left breast and lower abdomen for 2 days and felt itchy, especially at night. On examination: there were scratches and secondary eczema-like changes under the left breast and lower abdomen, and the diagnosis was scabies. He was asked to pick the above five leaves fresh, dose, preparation, usage as above, 3 times a day, while he was asked to use the medicinal liquid with water to decoct the clothes and quilt, and the itch stopped after 3 days. Later, he complained that four people in his neighboring family were also cured of this disease by the above method. The itchy skin disease is more common clinically, and the author used a local folk remedy to treat it with a five-leaf lotion, which was quite effective. The “Ben Cao Tu Jing” contains fresh mulberry leaves: “boiled soup dredge hands and feet, to remove wind paralysis scabies”; “Guizhou herbal medicine” contains fresh walnut leaves: “treatment of leucorrhoea, scabies herpes addiction sores”; “Tang Materia Medica” contains fresh tsubaki leaves: “main wash sores scabies, wind gangrene “; “Compendium of Materia Medica” contains fresh pepper leaves: “kill insects, wash foot sores and lacquer sores, scabies”; “Minnan Folk Herbs” contains fresh mandrake leaves: “pounded and extracted juice, external washing skin itchy blisters”. The five leaves together have the function of light clearing and dispersing, dispelling wind and killing insects, so it is used to treat itchy skin with satisfactory results. These five plants in the local and most areas of the country have more growth, a wide range of sources of medicine, more simple, convenient, inexpensive, experimental characteristics, conducive to clinical use and promotion.
