Characteristics of Chickweed

Chickweed traits include gray-brown corky bark, reddish-brown where corky bark falls off, and hard texture.
The corms are oval, oblong-rectangular, or irregularly oblique slices. The cork skin is gray-brown, with some visible gray-white spots, and the cork skin is reddish brown where it falls off. The texture is hard. Sections have reddish brown or brown wood, with numerous ductal pores. Phloem with reddish brown to blackish brown resinous secretions, arranged in several concentric elliptic rings or eccentric semicircular rings with the xylem. The pith is biased to one side.
It is bitter, sweet and warm in nature. It belongs to the liver and kidney meridians. It has the efficacy of relieving pain and regulating menstruation, tonifying and activating blood, relaxing tendons and activating collaterals, and can treat numbness of limbs, rheumatism and paralysis, blood deficiency and atrophy, irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea, menstrual closure and other diseases.
