Is pulmonary sarcoidosis easily misdiagnosed as lung cancer?

Lung granulomas are not usually misdiagnosed as lung cancer, but this cannot be generalized, especially when the lesion is relatively small, and may be misdiagnosed as lung cancer when examined by CT. Because some granulomas are more irregular in shape and resemble malignant tumors, they may be mistaken for lung cancer. In general, when the granuloma lesions are small, the condition is often evaluated through clinical observation and follow-up examinations. When the lesions are small, they may not be accurately recognized, but they can be diagnosed and clearly identified by pathological biopsy, and the incidence of misdiagnosis as lung cancer is very low. Over time, as the lesion grows in size, it is generally less likely to be misdiagnosed when the lesion is very large. When suffering from pulmonary sarcoidosis should be timely hospital consultation, detailed examination, active treatment, so as not to delay the condition.
