Clinical application of Da Cheng Qi Tang

Dachengqi Tang is commonly used in the treatment of acute simple intestinal obstruction, acute cholecystitis, respiratory distress syndrome, etc. The diagnosis belongs to yangming viscera solid (solid evils in the gastrointestinal tract) or heat-knot bypassing flow (the dry feces in the intestines cannot be discharged in the intestines, but due to the compulsion of heat evils, the fluid in the intestines is forced to be discharged downwards). Da Cheng Qi Tang belongs to the Chinese medicine formula, which has the efficacy of “Jun down the heat knot” (using drugs with harsh flavor to bring down the heat evil). This formula is often used in the treatment of acute simple intestinal obstruction, acute cholecystitis, extrusion syndrome, and acute appendicitis, etc., which belong to the solid Yang Ming viscera or the heat knot bypassing the flow of the intestinal tract. Dachengqi Tang is used to treat Yangming visceral solid symptoms such as inability to pass stools, frequent farting, abdominal pain, refusal to press, and sweating of the hands and feet. It can also be used to treat the syndrome of paracolic flow of heat, which is characterized by diarrhea and purgation (stools as thin as water or mixed with undigested food), pain in the umbilicus and abdomen, and dryness of the mouth and tongue. Adverse effects of Da Cheng Qi Tang are not known, and contraindications include contraindication in pregnant women. Dachengqi Tang should be used to avoid depletion of vital energy by stopping the medicine when the disease is generally cured (for medicines with strong medicinal properties, the medicine should be stopped after the disease is generally cured to avoid damage). If you need to use the drug, it is recommended to use under the guidance of a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, unauthorized use of drugs may cause adverse consequences.
