How to treat postoperative swelling and pain after rotator cuff ligament rupture

The rotator cuff is not a ligament but a tendon. The swelling and pain after rotator cuff repair can be treated by cold therapy, hot compress and oral medication.
1. Cold therapy: Post-operative pain after rotator cuff injury is usually caused by inflammation around the joint, which can be relieved by applying ice for about 20 minutes, and if the pain is obvious at night, ice can be applied before going to bed.
2. Hot compress: 3 weeks after rotator cuff injury, after the surgical incision is healed, hot towel can be used to apply hot compress to the painful area to promote local blood circulation and help the inflammation subside.
3. Oral medication: mainly non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as etoricoxib, ibuprofen, celecoxib, etc. For those with poor gastrointestinal function, gastric mucous membrane protectant can be taken at the same time, such as aluminum phosphate gel.
Those who have pain after rotator cuff injury, if it cannot be relieved by the above ways, should consult a doctor in time to avoid delaying the condition.
