How long can you live with heart attack and heart failure?

Patients with heart failure due to heart attack can survive for years to decades after their heart attack is relieved by thrombolysis or interventional therapy, with regular medical treatment and scientific care.

Myocardial infarction, or acute coronary syndrome, is an emergency obstruction of the coronary arteries leading to acute myocardial ischemia, which results in a rapid decline in cardiac function and heart failure. Remission may occur after thrombolytic therapy, emergency stenting, or emergency coronary artery bypass grafting.

After remission of the infarction, strict medical therapy is required, thus slowing down the further decline of the damaged myocardial function. If well controlled, survival can be greatly improved. If the patient does not cooperate with the doctor to carry out effective treatment, the heart attack recurs, and the rescue is not timely, the heart function may decline rapidly and heart failure occurs, which may lead to the patient’s sudden death in severe cases.

It is recommended that patients with heart attack should consult a doctor in time and follow the doctor’s instructions for standardized diagnosis and treatment.
