A hard lump in the earlobe may be associated with earlobe sebaceous cysts, earlobe keloids and earlobe dermatoid cysts.
1. Earlobe sebaceous cysts: retention cysts caused by obstruction of sebaceous gland excretion. It occurs after the earlobe, sometimes the surface of the sebaceous gland can be seen in the opening of the small black spots. Inside the capsule is a collection of sebum and epidermal keratinized oil-like “bean dregs”.
2. Earlobe keloid: mostly caused by ear piercing, a small number of trauma. After the dermis of the earlobe is damaged, connective tissue proliferation and fibrous tissue vitreous lesions occur, resulting in irregular scarring and protruding from the surface of the skin.
3. Earlobe dermatoid cysts: cysts caused by abnormal development of epithelial cells, mostly due to congenital factors, surgical injuries. The wall of the cyst is composed of epidermis, and the inside of the cyst is keratinized scales. Hard bumps are palpable when growing in the earlobe.
When you find a hard lump in the earlobe, you can actively consult a doctor for systematic examination to clarify the diagnosis and standardize the treatment.
