Yanhe Qing is not an antibiotic. It is often used for respiratory tract infections such as pharyngitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, biliary tract infections, urinary tract infections and so on. Although Inflammation Qing has some anti-bacterial effect, it is not part of the antibiotic class of drugs, and can not replace antibiotics. Antibiotics are substances that inhibit or kill microorganisms and are purely chemical substances, not extracted from herbs, but produced by microorganisms of the genus Bacteria, Fungi, and Actinomyces. The antibiotics produced by microorganisms are called natural antibiotics, and the antibiotics that people process and modify on the basis of natural antibiotics are called artificial semi-synthetic antibiotics, like the commonly used penicillins, cephalosporins, erythromycin drugs, which are all antibiotics. There are some proprietary Chinese medicines, although there is an anti-bacterial effect, but are not antibiotics.
