Devin is the trade name for valsartan capsules. It is not recommended to be taken every other day and should be used as prescribed or as directed. Valsartan capsules are an angiotensin II receptor antagonist class of antihypertensive drugs used for all types of hypertension and to reduce mortality from cardiovascular disease in high-risk patients after a heart attack, as well as for the treatment of heart failure. The initial dose for adults in the treatment of hypertension is 80mg once a day, which can be increased to 160mg once a day after 2 to 4 weeks as appropriate. The maintenance dose is 80-160mg once a day. It can be taken with a meal or on an empty stomach, and it is recommended that the medication be taken at the same time each day, such as in the morning. During the use of the drug, patients’ blood pressure, blood volume, and blood potassium concentration should be tested regularly, in order to avoid the condition of low blood pressure, low blood volume, and high blood potassium concentration in a timely manner. Common adverse reactions are mild transient headache, dizziness and dose-related upright hypotension, gastrointestinal discomfort. Hypotension may occur, especially in hypovolemia. It is recommended that the medication be used appropriately under the supervision of a physician.
