Acupuncture and moxibustion at Zhongji point can treat urinary disorders such as enuresis, dysuria (unsmooth urination), retention of urine (dribbling of urine or inability to urinate), as well as regulating male disorders such as spermatorrhea, impotence, and infertility.
Zhongji point is an acupoint on the Ren vein, located in the lower abdomen, specifically 4 inches below the middle of the umbilicus, on the anterior midline. It has the effects of benefiting the kidneys and revitalizing the yang, regulating menstruation and stopping leucorrhoea (regulating menstruation and reducing abnormally increased leucorrhoea).
This point is mainly used for treating anterior yin diseases such as dysuria, dyspareunia and retention of urine; male diseases such as spermatorrhea, impotence and infertility, as well as gynecological diseases such as menstrual disorders, disintegration and leakage (excessive menstruation or dribbling), vaginal itching, infertility, and subluxation of leucorrhoea.
If treating enuresis, it can be combined with Guanyuan, Bladder Yu, Kidney Yu, Sanyinjiao and other points; if treating impotence, it can be combined with Guanyuan, Shenque, Kidney Yu, Lumbar Yangguan, Vitality, Heart Yu and other points.
