IVF generally does not require hospitalization. Some fertility centers will hospitalize 1-2 days during egg retrieval for ease of management, which is not too long. The IVF process includes ovulation, egg retrieval, embryo transfer, and post-transfer luteal support, which can be done on an outpatient basis. The procedure of egg retrieval and transfer is very short and usually takes less than 10 minutes, and you can leave after 1-2 hours of observation. However, in case of special circumstances, hospitalization is required, such as the occurrence of severe ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, or complications such as hemorrhage or infection due to egg retrieval.
