What’s wrong with a grayish-brown vaginal discharge?

Grayish-brown vaginal discharge may be caused by physiological factors, and pathological factors such as cervicitis, vaginitis and endometritis can also cause it.
1. Physiological factors: Before or after menstruation, there will be a small amount of grayish-brown vaginal discharge due to incomplete discharge of menstrual blood, which is a normal physiological reaction.
2. Pathologic factors:
(1) Cervicitis: when cervical inflammation is severe, there may be severe cervical erosion, which may easily cause contact bleeding, thus leading to gray-brown vaginal discharge.
(2) Vaginitis: vaginitis will make the vaginal mucosa congested and edematous, causing a small amount of bleeding and the symptom of having gray-brown discharge.
(3) Endometritis: Repeated episodes of endometrial inflammation will cause congestion of the endometrium, and bleeding from the congested surface will lead to grayish-brown vaginal discharge, accompanied by the symptom of pain in the lower back and abdomen.
There may be other reasons for the grayish-brown vaginal discharge, so you need to go to the hospital in time to clarify the cause of the disease and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
