How to get fast relief from too fast a heartbeat when donating blood

Donating blood with a fast heartbeat is generally divided into physiological and pathological, physiological can be relieved after a calm rest and adjusting the mood; arrhythmia can not be relieved after resting, you can take bisoprolol, diltiazem, etc. to slow down the heart rate; anaemia can be orally administered iron dextrose oral solution, ferrous sulfate tablets and other medications, and in serious cases, consideration of transfusion treatment.
1. Physiological: Healthy people’s heart rate is too fast when they donate blood, which is generally a normal reaction due to the increase of sympathetic excitability caused by emotional tension and excitement, after a period of calm and rest, and after adjusting the mood, the heart rate will naturally return to normal, and there is no need to use medication in general.
2. Pathologic:
(1) Arrhythmia: patients with arrhythmia such as premature beats and atrial fibrillation may also have accelerated heart rate when donating blood, if accompanied by obvious panic, fatigue and other discomforts, they can measure their blood pressure first, if their blood pressure is normal and cannot be relieved after resting, then they can take medicines such as bisoprolol and diltiazem to slow down their heart rate.
(2) Anemia: the amount of blood donated by the patient is usually within 400 ml. If dizziness, fatigue, tinnitus, blurred eyes, pallor and other discomforts occur after blood donation, drugs such as iron dextrose oral solution and ferrous sulfate tablets can be taken orally, and transfusion can be considered in case of severe anemia.
If the patient’s heart rate is too fast after donating blood, it is recommended to go to the hospital, after clarifying the cause of active treatment, the drugs need to be taken under the guidance of a physician.
