UA in medical terms refers to blood uric acid. Blood uric acid can reflect kidney function, especially the increase of UA indicates hyperuricemia, which can cause gout, joint pain, joint deformation and abnormal kidney function if not actively controlled. The control level of blood uric acid is also different between men and women, men should control it below 420umol/L and women should control it below 360umol/L.
