  Breast self-examination Breast self-examination is a method for women to systematically visualize and palpate their breasts and armpits in order to detect any abnormal changes in the breast. Breast self-examination is beneficial to the early detection of breast cancer and the prevention and treatment of all breast diseases. It is a simple, safe, non-invasive and suitable screening method for our country. Every October is the “Global Breast Cancer Awareness Month” launched by the World Health Organization, and a cosmetic brand has launched the “CheckYourself” breast cancer self-examination campaign in 25 countries around the world.  Visual inspection points: Palpation points: Check 1: With one hand, press the nipple clockwise with your fingertips and slide it in a circular spiral, gradually making three or four turns outward. Change to the other side.  Check 2: Lie flat, put a pillow under the right shoulder, bend the right hand under the pillow, and do check 1 with the left hand, then switch to the other side.  Check 3: Check the lymph under the armpit for enlargement, then squeeze the nipple with the thumb and forefinger to see if there is any abnormal discharge.  The key to breast self-examination techniques is to use the palm of your hand or put your fingers together and gently touch the breast with your fingertips, otherwise it is easy to mistake normal breast tissue for a lump. In addition, do not forget to check the armpit and collarbone, because some hyperplasia may also be around the breast and other places, once found abnormalities to seek medical attention.
