0.5cm ureteral stone, can consider drug lithotripsy, extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, percutaneous nephrolithotripsy lithotripsy.
1. Medication: For 0.5cm ureteral stone, if the stone surface is smooth and there is no obstruction in the urinary tract below the stone, medication can be considered for lithotripsy, such as alkalinization of urine with sodium potassium citrate for uric acid stone, infection control (levofloxacin) for infected stone, and acidification of urine with ammonium chloride orally.
2.Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy: It is suitable for the upper ureteral stone whose diameter is less than or equal to 2cm. It is to locate the stone by X-ray or ultrasound, and use the high-energy shock wave to focus on the stone, so as to make the stone cracked. It is prohibited for people with urinary tract obstruction at the distal end of the stone.
3. Percutaneous nephrolithotripsy: When extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy fails or cannot be used, percutaneous nephrolithotripsy can be considered. This method is not suitable for those with coagulation abnormalities and spinal deformities.
When ureteral stones are present, prompt medical attention and standardized treatment are recommended.
