Does soap nuts work for hair growth?

Soapwort, the Chinese medicine soap pods, has not been found to have a significant effect on hair growth. Soapberry has the efficacy of expelling phlegm and relieving cough, opening and closing the orifices, and killing insects and dispersing knots. It is used for treating phlegm cough and fullness of breath, stroke and silence of mouth, phlegm and saliva congestion (abnormal phlegm and excessive production of saliva), fainting and speechlessness, epilepsy, laryngeal paralysis (redness, swelling and pain in pharynx, or dryness, foreign body sensation, or itchy and discomfort in pharynx, and difficulty in swallowing) and other conditions. Note that the body is weak and pregnant women, hemoptysis is prohibited. Soap pods can also be used externally to treat scabies and leprosy, but there is no research showing that soap pods can produce hair.
