What does increased texture in both lower lungs mean

Increased bilateral lower lung texture is an imaging manifestation produced by the thickening of blood vessels and bronchial tubes in the lungs, which can be physiologic or caused by inflammation of the lungs, etc. Lung texture is a striated image that starts from the hilum and extends toward the outer lung field bands, and is composed of ducts such as pulmonary arteries and veins, bronchi, and lymphatic vessels. Certain physiologic conditions, such as obesity, the elderly, and long-term smokers, can be characterized by an increase in bilateral lower lung texture, at which time there is mostly no special clinical significance. In addition, when acute or chronic bronchitis or bronchiectasis exists in the lungs, inflammatory shadows may appear in the lungs, accompanied by thickening and increasing of the lung texture, and the patient may show symptoms such as cough and sputum. At this time, we should combine the clinical manifestations, symptomatic treatment. If the increase in the texture of both lower lungs is caused by pathologic factors, it should be treated as soon as possible.
