Acne on the face is essentially a type of acne. If only acne is present, without inflammatory papules or other lesions, it is classified as first-degree acne. There are two types of acne: one is whitehead acne, also known as closed acne, and the other is blackhead acne, also known as open acne. Acne is formed by the oil secreted by the sebaceous glands, shed skin cells, and lipid plugs formed by bacteria on the surface of the skin blocking the mouth of the hair follicle. Whitehead acne manifests as yellow cortical plugs, while black acne manifests as black or brown plugs. Acne is the precursor of inflammatory acne, and if acne develops further and is accompanied by inflammation, inflammatory acne, commonly known as acne, will form.
